We had our garden done a couple of years ago and honestly it probably took me several months to decide on a style of outdoor garden chairs that for one would not only be stylish but also comfortable, easy to move, UK weather resistant plus reasonably priced. I considered lots of options like deck chairs, butterfly chairs but did not like the idea of putting these away every time it rained or having to wait for the fabric to dry. Ultimately I decided on a couple of rope chairs.
The originals are called Acapulco chairs and were first produced in the ‘50s in Mexico. Many shops and designers have been creating their own version of this popular design. I love them for their looks but also for their practicality, as they are made out of vinyl they do not get wet. No need to remember to bring in the cushions, having said that if we are entertaining I do accessorise as they look fantastic with bright cushions. They look stylish outdoors as well as indoors.
I got ours at Habitat but Cox and Cox also do lovely ones, their version is called a string chair.
Or you could get an original in a striking colour like turquoise, from SillaAcapulco.com
